First look at Marvel-ous Spoilers

After some very impatient waiting, Marvel Super Heroes spoiler season has officially begun and we have a first look at some hot cards that will be in the set released June 26 2026.

There is no doubt about it, this set very well may turn into a pretty close competition with last years Final Fantasy craze.

From an ample amount of new mechanics, creature types and very beautiful artwork of the set that will have nerds drooling (I plead the fifth). From collectors, to players, to tournament junkies, this first round of spoilers has a lot to offer.

They are spoilers for a reason, so we will only cover one card in each color set that has stood out or may potentially be a powerhouse among Heroes and Villains and leave it up to you to decide if you want to CLICK THIS LINK and see the rest.

Thanos the Mad Titan:

A jaw dropper to say the least, and that should be expected. He is a RWB 4/4 Eternal Villain, but that’s not the part that shocked me.

Power Up seems to play very similarly to Aetherdrift's Exhaust ability. Though, we don't yet know if this is a one shot wonder per game, or if its repeatable using blink or copy abilities.

Either way, this is something that we should expect and accept, considering Thanos views himself as the “savior of the universe” and once completing his mission by wiping half the universe's population (odd or even) sees no further need to continue that endeavor.

His Deathtouch and Lifelink make for an even greater threat. Potentially casting him for the full mana cost lands you a 6/6 titan!

Possible Synergies:

Agent Phil Coulson

He might not seem like a big threat, but what stands out to me was the ability. Upon reading it, the card seemed quite familiar. Its a nerfed Iron Spider, Stark Upgrade. While he may not be able to draw cards, he can help buff your creatures in the same way Iron Spider does. The best part, though, both are heroes, meaning while Iron Spider is giving all artifact creatures an extra +1/+1 on tap, Coulson is doing the same thing to Iron Spider, which in turn will help boost those counters to use Iron Spider's draw ability.

Possible Synergies:

Tony Stank, erm, Stark

What's not to love about Artificers and Artifact creatures? Tony Stark allows you to draw and sift through your cards for one mana. while his alternate side, Iron Man allows for free casting. This means you can play some real heavy hitters in your deck and save your mana for additional casting.

Unless you have a solid board state, it may be a little slow to reach that full potential

Possible Synergy:

Thunderbolts Conspiracy

I don't usually play a lot of black in my own decks; however, what stands out to me is this Enchantments recursion. Essentially, you are getting a double dose of ETB/LTB for each creature you control that's a Villain, which may also be its own drawback if you don't play Villain creatures.

Though one of its greatest strengths I do see, using this on an ETB/LTB commander could potentially turn your deck into a force to be reckoned with.

Possible Synergies:

Mew Mew, Hammer of Thor

I have been debating an equipment deck. When I saw this card, I was excited to read its ability. "This would be epic on Big Mother Mouser!" However, reading the card also explains the card. Unless I could somehow make my Big Mother Mouser red or white, it would not work.

Equip the Worthy restricts equipping this artifact to Red or White creatures only. This is a fair drawback considering how strong the equipment is. Perhaps this might be the new Buster Sword for Red/White?

Without a doubt, if you are using Mew Mew, it seems like the best fit would be in a deck focused on Double Strike and Lifegain. Which, upon writing, might very well be my next deck build.

Possible Synergies:

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl

Rats, Goblins, Insects, Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, Squirrels, and whatever else I am missing. I am not usually one to consider those little vermin Go Wide decks. While I don't see them too often, they seem a bit overrated. Granted, that could just be my own biased judgment.

Squirrel Girl, though, for some reason, stands out as a Commander I am required to build a deck around. Her ability alone says, "I make swarms, fear me!"

Possible Synergies:

The Ten Rings

Why do we need One Ring when we can have ten? This card seems to be all over social media as a hot card. And if I am being honest, it is a must-have for any commander deck. Yes, it does have an expensive mana cost, but the rewards certainly beat the sacrifice.

You not only have an additional three cards in your maximum, but whatever you cast, gets replenished at the end of your turn. Not only do you get the advantage of actually having cards in hand, but the fact that this card clearly says "draw cards equal," making it ideal for all sorts of card draw triggers. It might be expensive, but personally, i think this is going to end up being a staple in all of my decks.

Possible Synergies:

  • Psycosis Crawler
  • Queza Auger of Agonies
  • Psychic Corrosion

Final Thoughts

Now this is just a small handful of what has been released. And I am sure as WoTC continues to reveal cards from this set we will see more helpful cards. Who knows? Perhaps my own suggestions will be tossed in the trash.

One thing we do know clearly, the Marvel Super Heroes set appears to be one massive powerhouse of many more to come that will build the foundations of the Hero/Villian archetypes.
