There is no doubt about it, The Hobbit set is gaining some serious hype. From LOTR lovers who are chasing nostalgia, to the MTG players after those heaters we are seeing a lot of demand for these products and it's not just The One Ring they are after.
While some might not be interested due to their own playstyle or perhaps thematic genre, there is no denying The Hobbit set offers a number of powerful cards worth playing.
Whether you play multiple color or mono decks, your bound to find some way to upgrade your deck. Below are six mono color combos worth considering.
White: Infinite Draw
While this combo does offer treasure tokens, and mana in addition to the draw ability, because white naturally struggles with card draw this is the component that you may find more beneficial.
Though the best part about this combo is that it's not an endless loop. You decide how long it lasts, so there is no need to worry about drawing yourself out of cards.

Requirements:
- At least 3 mana.
- All Cards in play.
- At least two opponents who can't pay Smothering Tithe's trigger.
- Activate Gleaming Splendor by paying three mana, causing two opponents to each draw a card.
- Smothering Tithe triggers twice, creating four Treasure tokens due to Anointed Procession.
- Activate three Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 3 mana.
- Repeat.
While this can potentially go infinite. It is important to remember that it will only work if a player can not pay the Smothering Tithe cost. Successfully running this combo will grant you infinite treasures, and allow you to draw your opponents out of the game.
Blue: Infinite Creature Tokens
If mono-blue wasn't the bane of our existence, it gets worse. This combo offers an endless swarm of flying creatures. Though the bright side of this is at least that mini blue player is happy, right? I mean, who doesn't love a good token swarm?

Requirements:
- All cards in play, Endless Atlass without summoning sickness.
- At least one land in hand that enters untapped that can produce 1 mana.
- Activate Walking Atlas by tapping it, putting the land from your hand onto the battlefield.
- When the land enters the battlefield, Elven Raft-Steerer triggers, untapping Walking Atlas.
- Activate the land by tapping it, adding at least 1 mana.
- Activate Meloku by paying 1 mana and returning the land from the battlefield to your hand, creating a 1/1 Illusion creature token.
- Repeat.
Much like our previous, while it is infinite, you choose when you want to stop tormenting your friends, erm... I mean creating token creatures.
Black: Infinite Lifegain
Both a blessing and a curse to running black is that sacrifices must be made if you want to get ahead in the game. Your creatures must die, and your life total must fall.
Thankfully, black still offers us ways to gain life and recover from that loss. This one on the other hand, is only a 2 card combo.

Requirements:
- Both cards in play.
- 3+ counters on Bloodchief.
- A way to make an opponent lose life.
- Cause one or more opponents to lose life.
- The Master of Lake-town triggers once for each life loss event, causing that player to mill cards equal to the amount of life lost.
- Bloodchief Ascension triggers once for each card milled, causing that player to lose 2 life and you to gain 2 life for each trigger.
- Repeat from step 2.
The results of this combo will cause an Infinite Mill to opponents, near-infinite lifegain for you, and near-infinite lifeloss for your opponents.
Red: Infinite Combat Phases
If there's anything Red is good at, it's hitting you repetitively while you sit there and wait for your turn, kind of like that big rubber ball that I would get pinged by in gym class as a kid.
Granted, this combo will take a bit of work to get out, considering it has an eleven mana cost.
However, if you manage to pull this off, you get a lot of mana, treasure tokens, combat damage, and combat phases.

Requirements:
- You control at least four Dwarves that don't have summoning sickness and that cannot be blocked by an opponent.
- An opponent cannot block and kill Hellkite Charger.
- 7 Available mana.
- Declare Hellkite Charger and four Dwarves as attackers. Hellkite Charger triggers, causing you to pay 7 mana to untap all attacking creatures and get an additional combat phase after this one.
- Deal combat damage using the four Dwarves. Thorin's first ability triggers four times, creating eight Treasure tokens.
- Move to your next combat phase, and declare Hellkite Charger and four Dwarves as attackers.
- Hellkite Charger triggers. Holding priority, activate seven Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 7 mana.
- Resolve the Hellkite Charger trigger, causing you to pay 7 mana to untap all attacking creatures and get an additional combat phase after this one.
- Repeat from step 2.
Green: Infinite +1/+1 Counters
Of course, if you play green, you need to get stompy enough for your opponent to either scoop or flip tables (whichever comes first).
With only three cards, you can go big without worrying about going home.

And the best is saved for last! Okay so you might not get everything, but this combo still has a lot to offer than just 2-3 combo buffs. And I have to admit, as an artifact guy, this is one of only two cards I'm personally interested in of the whole set.
You kick off by making copies of Bag End Banquet, then use that mana to copy any other artifact you have in play. This opens up to infinite ETB/LTB, lifegain/loss, creatures and whatever other nasty cardboard you have in your deck. You can even spice things up by throwing Academy Manufactor into the mix.
Requirements:
- Both cards in play
- At least 7 available mana.
- Activate Chrome Dome by paying 5 mana, creating a token copy of Bag End Banquet.
- When the Bag End Banquet token enters, it triggers, creating three Food tokens.
- Activate the Bag End Banquet token by tapping it, adding 1 mana for each Food you control.
- Repeat.
There are of course a plethora of other card combos this set has to offer. However these mono color combos are less restrictive and universal when it comes to upgrading your deck.
What other combos would you include?
